HISTORY.

More than a rugby club.

For nearly five decades, the Eastside Banshees have built something special, both on and off the pitch. A community shaped by competition, camaraderie, and a commitment to growing the game.

ROOTS.

The Eastside Banshees trace their roots to two clubs founded in the 1970s: the Twin Cities Irish Banshees in 1977 and Eastside RFC in 1979.

The Twin Cities Irish Banshees were founded by St. John’s and St. Thomas alumni, while Eastside RFC grew from University of Minnesota alumni and local rugby players.

The two clubs merged in 1988, and the newly formed Eastside Banshees played their first league season in 1989.
